A lost ship.

Something evil brought up from the depths.

Evil has come aboard the Ex Inferis.

Where we’re going, we won’t need eyes to see.

Ex Inferis is a system-neutral modern horror adventure written for the Liminal Horror Twisted Classics jam. It includes basic stats for Liminal Horror included, but could easily be adapted to your modern horror ttrpg system of choice.

The module includes:

  • Full 20 page adventure module
  •  Ship map and descriptions
  • Custom Fallouts
  • Custom resonant artifacts
  • Character spark tables
  • Doom Clock to ratchet tension and drive the story forward

Touchstones

Ex Inferis is most accurately described as “Event Horizon on a boat,” but it more broadly pulls from the ghost ship story tradition: a haunted ship, floating through remote waters, stumbled upon by an unwitting crew.

It was written with the Great Lakes in mind, but can take place in any large body of water, and can be adapted to fit the region of an ongoing campaign or any locale you’re interested in.

Content Warning

This module includes elements of graphic violence, body horror, self-harm, deep water danger, loss of autonomy, vomit, bodily fluids, and demonic possession.
